Landlords worried about missing payments discover agent in jail

Landlords who complained about a missing letting agent have discovered that he had been jailed for assaulting a sex worker.

Parvez Patel, 34, of Empress Avenue, Ilford, a director of Keller Stone Property in the town, was sentenced to four years in prison after the brutal attack on 29th January at the woman’s home in Westminster, leaving her with severe injuries including a broken nose.

Neighbours heard the woman’s screams, called police and he was arrested at the scene. Following a three-week trial at Southwark Crown Court, Patel was found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent.

Although the Companies House website says Keller Stones Property is still trading, Parvez has resigned as a director but remains a majority shareholder. However, it appears that the firm has closed as the website is down and its phoneline is not working.

Several frustrated landlords have left one-star Google Reviews in recent months. One says: “I have been trying to reach Mr. Pervez for months now regarding my deposit refund. But he seems to have disappeared and neither replying [to] mails or calls.”

Without permission

Another adds: “We had to go through PRS to recover money. The property was being sublet without permission and they didn’t protect the deposit even though they said they had.”

Detective constable Lloyd Leech, from the Metropolitan Police’s central west rape and serious sexual offences unit, says the victim suffered a horrific attack in her own home, where she was most vulnerable. He adds: “Patel inflicted significant injuries, and it is thanks to the quick actions of the public, who alerted police, we were able to intervene.

“Sex workers are among the most vulnerable in society, and we want to ensure they are heard and supported. We encourage anyone who has experienced any form of violence to come forward.”
