LATEST: New guide to official retrofitting support for landlords

retrofitting landlords utilita

As LandlordZONE’s official energy partner, Utilita Energy asked landlords how they could best help as we head into winter. One of the requests from landlords was a simple guide on what retrofitting support is available to landlords and tenants, to help make energy go further.

And here it is: https://forums.landlordzone.co.uk/c/smart-energy-questions/is-your-property-eligible-for-energy-efficiency-measures-utilita-energy-expert-explains-all

The table gives an overview of key schemes available to landlords, their eligibility criteria, what they cover, who can apply, and the necessary actions for landlords to take.

Although the property itself may be eligible for measures, it could also depend on the person living in it. For example, the Energy Company Obligation Scheme is only available to those claiming the following:

• Pension Guarantee Credit

• Child tax Credit/Working Tax Credit (threshold applies)

• Income based Job seekers Allowance (JSA)

• Income related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

• Carer's Allowance

George Walters (pictured), Utilita’s Chief Home Services Officer comments on the current schemes and eligibility criteria: “The decarbonisation schemes have been developed to help update the UK’s old housing stock making sure they are in good repair, energy efficient and accessible.

“Each household we have delivered measures for under the ECO4 scheme has always been so pleasantly surprised that the measures are free, and that their energy bills have reduced as a result.

“Our intention with this latest information campaign is to help landlords and tenants identify what schemes may be available for their properties, too.”
